Mirfield v Huddersfield

With over half the team away on holiday, Ruth, Michael and Ken stepped into the team.

Triples

Ruth, Michael and Jim took an early lead and were looking good for a win, but an end of 5 to Huddersfield took its toil on their confidence and they ended up losing 6-13

Shirley, Ken and Mark went point to point with Huddersfield, but winning an end by 4 gave us the momentum to close the game out 13-7 with some great pointing by Ken and clever shooting by Shirley

So the match was all square at the break

Doubles

Michael and Ruth found it difficult to gain control of the game and the jack, eventually going down 2-13

Jim and Ken raced to a 7-0 lead with some excellent teamwork and by having control of the game, closed the game out 13-6

Shirley and Mark were even at 6 all, but Huddersfield had a streaky shot that resulted in a score of 4, eventually losing 8-13

So Huddersfield won the match 3-2

But the positive from the match was how well Ruth Michael and Ken each played, especially Ken winning 2 from 2
