Mirfield v Leeds

Today was the return game against Leeds who had beaten us 5-0 in the 1st game of the season.

Playing against arguably the strongest team in the league it was time to implement our secret weapon.

No,it wasn't to bring Ken Smith into the team,it was to play the triples and 2 doubles on the new bottom terrain.

Shirley, Jim and Mark got off to a fast start, leading 6-0, but a Leeds player who must have been a sniper in his younger days because he hit every shot totally ruining our game, resulting in a 6-13 loss.

Lucy, Diane and Harry again played some superb petanque to control the game, winning 13-7

So it was all square at the break.

Harry and Diane continued the fantasic form from the triples to win 13-4

Shirley and Mark playing on terrain 4 controlled their game with some sizzling shots to win the game 13-7

Unfortunately Lucy and Jim had to play against the "sniper" and played some fabulous shots but ultimately lost 6-13

So, Mirfield won the match 3-2 , the secret weapon worked
