Ladies vs Gents Challenge

The Ladies vs. Gentlemen event took place having been cancelled the previous week due to heavy rain. Fortunately there were fifteen men and fifteen women in attendance. This enabled the teams to be split into six pairs and one triple. Teams were drawn and the contest over three rounds commenced.

When all games in the first round had finished it was the ladies who took an early lead by 4 wins to 3, Jackie and Christine Campey showing the way with a 13 - 5 win against Rod and Harry.

In the second round the men came storming back with a 6 -1 success and therefore a lead of 9 games to 5. Jan and Gillian scoring for the ladies with a 13 - 7 win over Steve and Ron. This success followed their 13 -1 defeat in the first round.

The third round score was a very one sided affair with the Gents taking the honours by 7 games to nil to produce a final score of 16 games to the gents and 5 to the ladies.

Three teams won all three of their games. Both Dave Karle and David Boyne and Kevin and Tony Haynes finished on three wins with a difference of +20. The team of Jim, Robin and Ian finished with three wins and +24.

The best finishing ladies were Shirley and Lucy along with Jan and Gillian with one win and a score of -8.
