Month End Melee

Month End Melee April 2023

26 members turned out on a sunny but cool afternoon for the April Month End Melee.

Lots of very close games in the first round but coming through in the lead was Jim and his partner Graham with a 13 - 1 win. Closest to this was Dave K and his partner Tony Morton at 13 - 5

Round 2 saw wins for Jim and Carole McD playing with different partners giving them 2 wins and +17 each. Tony M kept in touch with 2 wins and +14.

All to play for in round 3.

Jim held his nerve and managed a third win in a triple with Carole McD and Christine W giving him and Carole +21 but Tony M had a magnificent 13 - 1 game with partner Colin giving Tony the lead on +26.

The weather spoiled itself at the end of the match with a brief hailstorm and everyone retired to the pavilion to check the results and enjoy a birthday bun baked by Cheryl to celebrate Rod's birthday.

In joint 2nd place with 3 wins and +21 was Carole McD who receives 6 points
Also in joint 2nd place with 3 wins and +21 was Jim who also receives 6 points
In 1st place with 3 wins and +26 points was Tony Morton who scores maximum 7 points.

Three other players scored three wins but were outside the placings. Commiserations to Ann Hudson, Colin and Ken.
