Heckmondwike v Mirfield Wednesday 7th May 2025

Mirfield played their second game of the season when they travelled to play against Heckmondwike.

The triples games got underway with Mirfield represented by Shirley, Kevin and Jim in one team and Carol Sykes, Ron and Ian in the other. The games did not end well with the Heckmondwike teams coming out on top in both games.

Being 2 - 0 down did not deter the Mirfield squad when they went on to play the pairs round. Shirley and Kevin won their match 13 - 10 and then Jim and Ian were successful by the same score. This brought the scores level. Attention was then transferred to Carol and Ron in the final match. They completed their game with a 13 - 6 win for Mirfield to win the match contest 3 games to 2.

Carol and Ron, playing their first matches in the league, produced an excellent performance to win their pairs match. After losing in the triples match they showed great character and determination to be successful in their pairs game.
