Mirfield Petanque Club say farewell to two long standing member couples.

Mirfield Petanque Club were saddened to learn that Viv and Fred Smith had decided to move from Mirfield to Lincolnshire to be closer to their daughter.

They have been members from the inception of our club and Fred volunteered to become our chair person when the committee was formed.

They have been regular attendees at our petanque sessions and represented MPC in competitions within Kirklees.

They have said they will call in and see us from time to time.

We were also saddened to learn that Ann and Brian have decided to live in Spain full time and are currently selling their house in Ossett. Ann and Brian have also been regular attendees when not on holiday in Spain and have represented MPC in Kirklees competitions.

Both couples have supported and attended many of our away weekends in Scotland, Gloucestershire and at our annual Xmas Parties and other events.

We will treasure the memories in Scotland playing against Melrose, Walkerburn and Tweed Valley P├ętanque Clubs.

I get moist just thinking about it. (an in joke).

Viv & Fred and Ann & Brian both attended our recent petanque sessions to bid farewell to their friends at MPC and our Members reciprocated by giving them a card signed by members and also a photograph taken on one of the trips to Melrose.

So, on behalf of all members, can I say Bon Voyage, Adios and we wish you the very best wishes for the future and we look forward to welcoming you back to MPC or meeting up with you in Scotland at some point in the future.

Love from us all. xxxx
